Dashworks - What Can It Do?
Data Warehouse
Dashworks builds a complete view of your desktop infrastructure by connecting to user, computer and application data sources irrespective of technology. It extracts the key information required to create the baseline for your migration project. Dashworks creates linked views of the users, computers and their entitlements. The warehouse receives scheduled updates so that changes within the environment are always reflected near-time.
Search
Effortless free text search of the entire data store is available from the dashworks search bar. The entire data warehouse is exposed to our search engine, taking you directly to the information you want. Dashworks also maps the relationships between data so that useful links to alternative data are displayed in the same window.
Browse
Dashworks links all the data it holds back to the Active Directory, enabling views by computers, users, departments and locations. You can drill through specific organisational views right down to the user, computer or application level. It enables everyone from project managers through to the help desk staff to see the information exactly how they want it.
Track
The data warehouse is refreshed on a scheduled basis, so information is always in sync with your environment. By updating joiners and leavers, hardware refreshes, software provisions, break/fix swaps and new applications, dashworks ensures that you never migrate users that are not ready. Project dashboards are built in, so you always know how much you have done and exactly what is left.
Modelling
With dashworks, organisations can analyse the impact of setting different rules for hardware specifications against the project. For example, understanding the impact of setting a minimum memory specification of 1.5Gb rather than 1Gb will probably change a number of users to a 'red' migration status, but when combined with the software information, how many?
Report
Dashworks provides everything in dynamic, drillable views for on-line status and asset reporting. However, sometimes an organisation needs to export and manipulate that data in a different way. All dashworks views can be exported to Excel, and custom reports can be created through the standard ODBC connector, or with consultancy days from Juriba.
Automation
Dashworks connects to other databases to automate the setting of application compatibility status. For example, dashworks is one of the first third party products to interact with AppDNA's AppTitude application compatibility software which can be used to feed the dashworks engine.
