09 Feb 2010: ChangeBASE AOK and Juriba partnership brings Windows 7 to 11,000 college students
Technology leaders enable North Hertfordshire College to migrate faster,
London, 09 February 2010 - ChangeBASE AOK Limited the global leader in automated application compatibility testing and remediation and Juriba Limited, specialists in Windows-based migration management software, today announced a strategic partnership that will see North Hertfordshire College migrate to the Windows 7 operating system.
Following a period of consultation in which ChangeBASE AOK and Juriba advised North Hertfordshire College’s IT managers on strategy and planning for its operating system migration, the college has now decided to work with the partners to oversee the entire migration process. The extensive project covers the College’s entire IT network, which includes six campuses, 2,700 PCs, 11,000 users and 100-plus core applications.
“The challenge we faced was how to effectively and efficiently migrate all our PCs and applications to Windows 7 in a timely and cost effective manner,” explains Matt Greening, Head of IT, North Hertfordshire College. “By running a Windows 7 Proof of Concept with ChangeBASE AOK and Juriba we were able to understand which of our PCs and applications would cause us problems. The ability of ChangeBASE AOK to automatically fix application issues and the business intelligence that Juriba’s Dashworks delivers makes the whole migration process so much more efficient and cost effective.”
The Changebase AOK platform quickly identifies and automatically fixes any application compatibility issues that are faced during a software installation or migration project. Juriba has integrated ChangeBASE’s AOK platform into its business intelligence technology suite, Dashworks, allowing the partners to manage the College’s upgrade to Windows 7 as efficiently as possible.
“As specialists in helping organisations to save time and money when migrating to Windows 7, Juriba is committed to finding our customers the best solution for their specific needs,” says Barry Angell, Director, Juriba. “Application compatibility is often regarded as the biggest hurdle in making the transition to a new operating system and ChangeBASE AOK ensures this aspect of migration is managed as efficiently as possible. As partners, we have integrated both our technologies to ensure that North Hertfordshire College’s students and staff can reap all the benefits of Windows 7 as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. We are delighted to be working with ChangeBASE AOK on this project, which will ultimately help the College to deliver its students enhanced training and courses using state-of-the-art Windows technology.”
“When IT managers are looking at managing the migration of an operating system across thousands of users and thousands of computers it can seem a complex and daunting proposition,” says Colin Gray, Sales Director, ChangeBASE AOK. “However, this doesn’t have to be the case. By working with Juriba and ChangeBASE AOK the North Hertfordshire College is able to centralise all of its critical end-user information, which in turn means we are able to cut the time required for planning and implementation by a matter of months.”

26 May 2009: Juriba Receives Microsoft Windows 7 ACF Accreditation
With the final release candidate for Windows 7 available and usable through March 2010, companies need to start thinking about how they will deploy the new operating system. One of the major barriers to quick adoption is application compatibility. This is especially true for organisations moving from Windows XP. Leading application compatibility experts already suggest that up to 40% of applications will need some form of remediation.
With this in mind, Microsoft invited selected partners to attend technical workshops on the changes in Windows 7 likely to cause application incompatibility.
Juriba were one of the few companies chosen to find out the major differences in Windows 7 and recap on the incompatibility issues with Windows Vista. A complete overview of methods for remediation was also discussed, with expertise from Microsoft's application compatibility team on hand for real-world demonstrations. As a result, Juriba will now be offering its first packaged Windows 7 application compatibility service, utilising the Microsoft application compatibility framework. Intended as a quick start assessment for Windows 7 application readiness, the new Microsoft application compatibility toolkit is used to identify applications across 100 machines. Applications are rated red, amber or green based on the tests, and referenced against a community database for other real world experience. Applications can then, in many instances, be fixed on demand to run on Windows 7.

Juriba showcases Dashworks at the Technology Den in London, England
JURIBA, the leading developer of desktop upgrade management software, this week presented its dashworks product at the Technology Den. Dashworks helps organisations by providing a real-time view of an organisation's assets (devices, users and applications) and their readiness for transition or migration to Microsoft Windows or Citrix platforms. The session was attended by the CTO/CIO community from major organisations across multiple industry sectors.
Presenting alongside other leading innovative companies in London, Barry Angell, Director at Juriba, described how dashworks can reduce the time and cost of desktop upgrades by up to 50%. To illustrate this point, Angell spoke to the audience about the capability of Juriba’s Dashworks product in providing rapid, accurate, automated compatibility assessments of desktops and applications for Windows Vista, App-V, Service Packs and Citrix. The Dashworks solution makes it easy for organizations to understand which of their users are ready to move to the new technology and dramatically reduces planning and testing time. Easy to understand “traffic light” dashboards show which applications have critical issues, which computers need replacing and which users are ready to migrate right now based on their hardware and software compatibility status.

With dashworks, Juriba is providing a toolset that takes away many of the barriers associated with managing such large scale change. It will help to deliver upgrades faster, with greater accuracy, and at a much reduced cost. Juriba Limited Company Launch
On October 15th a new face arrived onto the business intelligence (BI) scene. Juriba Limited is a new breed of provider, and the first that focuses on developing packaged BI solutions to the world of desktop infrastructure, helping organisations to migrate between Microsoft Windows platforms, manage application change, and reduce business as usual expense associated with supporting the desktop. The brainchild of three former JPMorganChase employees with extensive experience in managing multi-million pound desktop operations, Juriba is a privately funded organisation based in London, UK.
At present, any organisation looking to start the journey towards Windows Vista, adopt new technology such as App-V (SoftGrid), or even simply migrate between directory or software distribution platforms, has a significant amount of pre-work analysis effort before they can get started. This can mean months lost in productive efforts, scoping and re-scoping multiple times, and a high level of startup expense. Juriba aims to remove this complexity through its planned dashworks desktop business intelligence toolset, translating key user, computer, application and compatibility data into real business information to accelerate the delivery of desktop platform change.
"For years, organisations have burnt unnecessary cash preparing for operating system, platform and application change. Our vision is not only to remove this complexity, but also to leave a legacy of fresh, dynamic desktop information that everyone can use, from senior management to project managers, service delivery staff and asset owners."
said Barry Angell, director at Juriba.
"We are the first to bring a truly multi-vendor approach to desktop business intelligence, and look forward to announcing our new products in the very near future"
Juriba plans to work with key industry partners to bring its dashworks product to market, targeting medium to enterprise level customers with a significant desktop estate. As a certified Microsoft partner, Juriba will be at the forefront of technology development, and will enable the smarter adoption of new end user platforms and tools to improve business productivity.
